Just a few months ago, HDBeenDope talked to Def Pen about his creative process, his last project and much more. During that conversation, he mentioned that he used to love coming home after school and watching 106th & Park on BET. From the “Put It On Me” video with Ja Rule to the “Like You” video with Bow and Ciara, there are a number of videos that come to mind whenever someone mentions the 106th & Park era. Nearly seven years after its final show, the Brooklyn artist is carrying on the 106th & Park legacy with his own eye-catching visuals. Earlier this year, his “21 Bags” set the tone for this 2021 run and he’s back with yet another video.
“Best Out” is the latest offering from the Brooklyn native. Teaming up with Erikson Corniel and Jay D, the visual takes us from a chaotic Uber ride through New York to the streets that make up the Big Apple what it is. With that said, it’s not only about the video. As always, HDBeenDope is here to deliver those top tier punchlines as well.
“Been about the business and you bitch about the Lipton/Working for the chicken no I never got it instant/Probably won’t get it cause your life on Tipton/That’s sweet/Ain’t no beef,” he raps.
After dropping freestyle after freestyle and delivering the “21 Bags” video, HDBeenDope is off to a fast start in 2021. Having delivered his sophomore album last year, look out for the New York native to come even harder once concert venues start to open and the day parties get going. “Best Out” is definitely a record that everyone can enjoy outside once things start to open back up again. For now, enjoy the video from the comfort of your home.
