Last year was an uncertain run for a number of reasons. From the pandemic to social unrest, artists were forced to adapt to the ever-changing climate. One of the artists who thrived in a difficult climate was Brooklyn’s HDBeenDope.
In 2020, HDBeenDope delivered his latest project, BrokeN Dreams, with features from Rodes Rollins, Mayila and Maeta. He’s also put together a series of one-minute free verse videos over your favorite songs. Adding on, he launched his own podcast and sat down for an interview with Def Pen.
Things are still uncertain in 2021, but HDBeenDope is getting off to a fast start. First up, he’s dropping new music. His latest video for “21 Bags” is both cinematic and artistic. Taking fans into the ballet, the Brooklyn native puts everyone on notice that he will not be stopped in the new year.
“You lucky, I’m solid with mirrors and I’m not a n*gga that care ’bout exposing you/So no need to be stressed out here/But no sticking your chest out here/You could watch all the moves, but you can’t tell me none/’Cause you don’t got the best ideas/What the f*ck? Is he dumb,” he raps.
