Gucci Mane may have been born in Alabama, but his musical roots lie in the city of Atlanta. The trap music pioneer has played a role in the growth of Atlanta’s Hip-Hop scene for more than 20 years. Working with Zaytoven, he rose to prominence in the mid to late 2000s with a slew of mixtapes, including Chicken Talk and No Pad, No Pencil. Those mixtapes, coupled with singles like “Icy” and “Freaky Gurl,” brought the mixtape legend to the mainstream. Along the way to the top, he worked with everyone from OJ Da Juiceman to Mariah Carey. More recently, he’s turned his attention to his own record label, 1017 Records. Now, he’ll bring his expansive discography to the stage for a special evening in Atlanta.
