NBA All-Star Game voting has turned into the social media extravaganza and the masters of search engines are getting involved. The NBA and Google announced a partnership where the two will work together during the voting season. Voting opens on Christmas Day at 11:00 a.m. EST and conclude on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 21st, at 11:59 p.m.
Voting can happen multiple ways, but the partnership allows voting to take place by searching on Google and through the Google Assistant and via NBA.com and the NBA app as always. There will also be five “2-1 Days” throughout the voting period where votes count for double. Fans will account for 50 percent of the vote, while other players and media will account for the other 25 percent each.
TNT will broadcast the unveiling of the starters and the team captains on January 24th, in addition to the draft itself. The coaches and reserves will be announced on January 31st. The 2019 NBA All-Star Game will be played in Charlotte N.C., on Sunday February 17th at 8:00 p.m. EST.
Last year, Team LeBron James took down Team Steph Curry 148-145.
