After Indiana Pacers forward Glenn Robinson III won the 2017 NBA Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday night, he predicted on TNT that this wouldn’t be the high point of his career:
“I’ve been an underdog all my life, all my career, you know. This is just the beginning for me. I got some great teammates, great help to help get this done. It’s been a dream come true, and I’m just having fun.
On Sunday morning, Robinson participated in a mini-AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit. In the AMA, Robinson said that he will likely return to defend his title next season:
“I am just enjoying this right now. We’ll see but the odds are looking good.”
Robinson, who defeated Phoenix Suns rookie Derrick Jones Jr. in the final round of the Dunk Contest to win, is currently in his third NBA season. This season for the Pacers, Robinson is having his best year yet, averaging career-high marks in minutes per game (21.9), points per game (6.2), rebounds per game (3.7), field goal percentage (46.1) and three-point percentage (38.4).
