Giggs has returned with his first single of the year, “Da Maximum.” The single arrives alongside a visual from Hundo that takes the legendary artist from Brooklyn to Peckham in a matter of frames. Regardless of what street Giggs stands on, his delivery and authenticity shine through in each bar.
“I got my gun on me, I’m with the killys/I got my gang on the hunt for the spinach,” he raps as his iconic “Sheesh” adlib runs in.
“Dolce & Gabbana, my jumpers are fitted/She came and sat on my lap and I hit it/I make the savages jump on the critic/Told ’em I would, said I couldn’t, I did it.”
“Da Maximum” may be his first single of 2022, but Giggs has been far from hard to find. Not only did he appear alongside Dave on “In Da Fire” in 2021, but he also performed the track at the 2022 BRITs in February. In addition, he worked with Rowdy Rebel on “Differences.” More recently, he was one the many moguls to receive praise on Jay-Z’s “God Did” verse.
“They said they don’t know me internationally, niggas on the road did. I see a lot of Hov in Giggs,” Jay-Z said about the “Da Maximum” star.
Having received a co-sign from Jay-Z, the U.K. legend is preparing to end the year out on the right note. A press release announcing the “Da Maximum” video indicated that “fans can expect more music from the Landlord in the coming weeks.” Until Giggs returns once again, check out “Da Maximum” video from Hundo and Giggs below.
