Kodak Black and French Montana appear to be working on a joint project. Recently, the New York artist shared a video of himself and Kodak Black with a caption that reads, “Kodak [Black and] French Montana album? Sheesh.”
“Me and French Montana gon’ f*ck around and drop an album soon,” Kodak Black said in the video posted by French Montana.
“My album [is on] Spotify. Make sure you playlist that sh*t. I mean…f*ck everybody. Playlist my sh*t. My sh*t [is] top rope. Me and French Montana sh*t top rope, too.”
Kodak Black and French Montana have not released an entire project together before, but they have worked together on singles previously. Six years ago, the duo delivered “Lockjaw.” More recently, they released “Mopstick” in April.
Individually, both artists have also had success this year. Two months after unleashing the “Mopstick” video, French Montana released Montega with Harry Fraud. The 14-track project included contributions from EST Gee, Rick Ross, Jadakiss, Benny The Butcher, Quavo and Chinx. Meanwhile, Kodak Black is riding high following the release of his fourth studio album, Back For Everything. The project’s lead single, “Super Gremlin,” rose as high as third on the Billboard Hot 100 and the album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. More recently, he took the stage at Rolling Loud and hopped on “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” with King Combs.
Fresh off of solo projects, both French Montana and Kodak Black are in a prime position to deliver a successful joint project. When will it be released? Only time will tell.
