The Ohio State Buckeyes have landed 2022 recruit Felix Okpara who ranks top 50 in his class and is also a top ten center. Head Coach Chris Holtmann has put a focus on bringing in talented big men and competing at a high level in a traditionally tough Big Ten conference. Okpara is a talented high school player that should be able to contribute immediately to the team when he arrives on campus. The makeup of the roster will largely determine if he starts day one or not, but he should be a rotation player as a freshman.
ESPN 100 center Felix Okpara announced his commitment to Ohio State. Took an official visit to Columbus in June; Chris Holtmann made him a priority during July. Biggest impact right now is on the defensive end.
Buckeyes now have three ESPN 100 commitments. All ranked in top 65.

The other two Top 50 players joining Okpara on the Buckeyes in 2022 are Top 25 point guard Bruce Thornton and Top 50 shooting guard Roddy Gayle Jr. Ohio State also has the commitment of three-star shooting guard Bowen Hardman. Okpara is the center the program needed in this recruiting class to surround with their talented guards. The new Buckeye commit is listed at 6’11” and 210 pounds. He still has time to bulk up more, but his current size is suitable for the NCAA.
Ohio State has been a top Big Ten program for some time and Holtmann will want to continue that trend. Okpara should be a multi-year prospect that anchors down the paint for Ohio State. His defensive ability is already there and with some polish he should be able to help on the offensive end as well. Right now he still has one year in high school to continue to work on his game before college.
