Tonight, President Joe Biden will stand alongside former President Donald Trump in Atlanta, Georgia during the first presidential debate of the election cycle. Tomorrow, Joseph “Fat Joe” Cartagena and Earl “E-40” Stevens will join the President at a re-election campaign in Raleigh, North Carolina.
“From day one, the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign has been strategic, thoughtful and genuine in our outreach efforts to the diverse coalition that makes up the backbone of the democratic party,” a Biden campaign official said.
“The Biden-Harris campaign will continue to welcome celebrities and influencers from across the entertainment spectrum in the fight to save Democracy from Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans.”
Inviting Fat Joe and E-40 to the rally is part of a larger effort from the Biden campaign to engage with voters of color, particularly Black voters. During a visit to Girard College in Philadelphia last month, the President launched the Black Voters for Biden-Harris coalition. According to a spokesperson for the campaign, the program aims to “bolster [their] continued historic investments in outreach to the backbone of the Biden-Harris coalition – Black voters.”
“These voters were instrumental in electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in 2020, paving the way for the Biden-Harris Administration to deliver a record low Black unemployment rate, Black wealth increased by 60%, more Black Americans with health care coverage than ever before, and billions forgiven in student loan debt that disproportionately impacts Black borrowers,” a campaign spokesperson said.
“Now, these same voters will be critical to defeating Trump’s racist and toxic agenda at the ballot box – again.”
Trump will attempt to defeat “Trump’s racist and toxic agenda” on the debate stage at CNN in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, June 27 at 9 p.m. EST. Less than 24 hours later, he will meet Fat Joe and E-40 in Raleigh, North Carolina for a rally set to begin at 12:00 p.m. EST.
