R&B Soul singer Fantasia releases new album Sketchbook experimenting with different sounds and genres of music.
If Fantasia’s career has solidified anything it is that she has the range. Her vocal abilities won her season three of the iconic televised talent show American Idol and since the 2004 win, Fantasia has offered R&B, Gospel, holiday and soul hit records as well as acting credits including a role on Broadway.
Her latest album Sketchbook takes a similar approach. Not limited to one sound, Sketchbook explores multiple genres, drawing from all of Fantasia’s musical inspirations. Sketchbook comes as Fantasia’s first full-length release under her independent label imprint viaRock Soul in partnership with B.M.G.
“I’ve shared so much with the world but I feel that there is more still in this journey .. I’m still growing. In the sketchbook we’re still coloring out and painting it out the way I want to be seen, not allowing anybody else to take control of that journey. This sketchbook, what I’m showing through my music, no matter where I go, I want people to see that the painting is still being filled in and there’s many colors and many things to Fantasia that they still don’t know — especially music.” says Fantasia in an official statement.
Sketchbook is lead by the singles Enough, which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s “Adult R&B Chart” and the newer PTSD featuring T-Pain. Fantasia performed Enough during the 2019 BET Awards.
Alongside her new album, Fantasia sets out on tour with Robin Thicke, Tank and Bonfyre. Tickets are currently on-sale and the dates take the group of singers throughout North America. The Sketchbook Tour kicks off October 17 in Columbia, South Carolina and hits cities such as Philladelphia, Baltimore and Houston before wrapping up in Los Angeles.
