The Michigan State Spartans have received the commitment of 2022 five-star big man Enoch Boakye. This is the third five-star commitment for the Spartans in less than a month. Head Coach Tom Izzo seems to be on a roll recruiting talented prospects to the Spartans. Boakye will be joining the Spartans with the top-rated prospect in the 2022 class, Emoni Bates. There are still some questions about if Bates will ever play college basketball. Enoch Boakye finds himself in a situation where he’ll either be the best player in the class for Michigan State or he gets to be teammates with Bates, a potential generational talent.
Tom Izzo caps off July with his third commit across the program for the month. Landing the nation’s top-ranked player, Emoni Bates, Max Christie, now Enoch Boakye.
Izzo and staff recruiting at a high-level right now.

Tom Izzo fields a talented roster when he doesn’t have highly ranked recruits, so handing him this kind of talent could spell trouble for other Big Ten programs. Boakye is a talented recruit with the size to immediately impact college basketball. He is listed at 6’10” and 240 pounds. The Canadian prospect till has some time to further develop his skill before he gets to the Michigan State campus.
The 2022 prospect is still a few years out from college, so there weren’t many schools very involved with his recruiting process. Kentucky and Texas Tech showed some interest but lost out to the Spartans. Tom Izzo continues to impress as the Michigan State head coach. There is a rumor that Boakye is debating reclassifying into the 2021 class, but he still has almost a year to make his decision. The big man is going to be a force in college basketball whenever he shows up to the Spartans program.
