Boxing is preparing for a major run in the first quarter of 2023. In January, Jermall Charlo is scheduled to battle Tim Tszyu. David Benavidez is expected to fight Caleb Plant in March. To top it all off, Gervonta “Tank” Davis is preparing to fight Ryan Garcia in April. With that said, both Davis and Garcia are expected to fight in January before their showdown takes place.
First up, Gervonta “Tank” Davis will battle super featherweight champion Hector Garcia on January 7, 2023 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. While the focus is on Davis and Garcia, two champions have been added to the main fight card. Leading the way, undefeated middleweight champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade will take on Demond Nicholson in a super middleweight bout.
“I’m definitely looking to put on a show,” Andrade told a group of reporters, per Boxing Scene.
“Skills, the power of course, and later on in the rounds, of course, a stoppage.”
Joining Andrade, welterweight contender Jaron “Boots” Ennis will challenge Ukraine’s Karen Chukhadzhian for the interim IBF Welterweight Championship. Also, Rashidi Ellis battles Roiman Villa in a welterweight bout. Rounding out the card, super welterweight prospect Vito Melinicki Jr. will share the ring with Omar Rosales.
