Unfortunately, the lineup at Pharrell’s Something In The Water has gotten just a little bit smaller. On Wednesday, El-P revealed that he had tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, Run The Jewels has pulled out of the festival.
“Well, now I have COVID-19,” he wrote.
“That means Run The Jewels won’t be able to play the Something In The Water Festival this weekend in Washington, D.C. I am very sorry. I was excited to be a part of it and I don’t like letting people down.”
Sadly, El-P and Killer Mike will not be able to take part in the festivities. Fortunately, fans will still have a lot to look for as El-P recovers. Usher, J Balvin, Anderson .Paak, Lil’ Uzi Vert, Roddy Ricch and Lil’ Baby are just a few of the performers set to take the stage on Independence Avenue during the weekend of Juneteenth. Pharrell will also put on a special performance with a few guests like Justin Timberlake, SZA, N.O.R.E and the Clipse. Not to mention, festival organizers have routinely teased a special guest that has not yet been named.
For those who cannot make it down to the nation’s capital, Amazon Prime Video and Twitch will stream the festival’s most exciting performances at 3 p.m. ET each day.
