This year, dozens of artists have jumped on to the scene with projects that have little to no warning. From The Carters to Eminem, Hip-Hop has received its fair share of surprise projects this year. Most recently, Big K.R.I.T dropped a few surprise tracks right before Thanksgiving. This week, the surprise artist is Earl Sweatshirt. After appearing on Vince Staples most recent project, Earl Sweatshirt let fans know that he had a new project coming before the end of the month. Soon thereafter, Earl Sweatshirt’s project became available for pre-order.
The new project from Earl Sweatshirt comes complete with fifteen tracks including the previously released records, “The Mint” and “Nowhere2go”. The project features Standing On The Corner, Navy Blue, Cheryl Harris and Keorapetse Kgositsile. While the project is fifteen records long, it comes in at just under thirty minutes. The new project is short, concise and gets straight to the point.
In addition to dropping his own album, Earl Sweatshirt also made an appearance on the newly released album from The Alchemist. Earl Sweatshirt teamed up with the legendary producer to do a track called “E Coli” that went along with a new video. Check out that video and be sure to check out the full album stream for his new solo project, Some Rap Songs.
