Dwight Howard In Walking Boot After Suffering Ankle Injury Vs. Suns
There wasn’t much Dwight Howard could do to help his Houston Rockets beat the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.
James Harden took care of that.
Howard suffered a right ankle injury in the first quarter and wouldn’t return to the game. From the Associated Press, Howard was seen in a walking boot after the game:
“I really couldn’t put any pressure on it,” Howard said after Houston’s win. “But we got the win, so that’s the only thing that matters.”
Howard had five points and three rebounds in 8:29 of playing time. He seemed light-hearted, singing in the locker room before saying that his ankle felt a little better.
Rockets coach Kevin McHale said the team would know more on Saturday about Howard’s status for upcoming games.
Here’s a video of Dwight Howard’s injury. Looks like he just had a funky landing on a rebound:
So no timetable or update yet on Howard’s ankle, but yes, the Rockets were still able to get the win without him.
