Dwayne Allen has re-signed with the Indianapolis Colts. Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports first reported the move.
Colts have agreed to terms w/Dwayne Allen on new deal. As reported at combine, he was likeliest of their TEs to return. Can block and catch

Allen’s new deal puts him as the 8th highest paid tight end per year. Quite the price to pay for a player who only caught 16 passes a year ago. The deal also likely means Colby Fleener who is also a free agent is likely to sign elsewhere. This is significant because Fleener is a former college teammate of Andrew Luck who was drafted by the Colts the same year Luck was.
The contract is reportedly worth 29.4 million over the course of 4 years. This move is quite surprising when you factor in his rather mediocre statistics. The former 3rd round pick has 13 career touchdowns in 4 seasons.
