Drake may be busy spending time with Sydney Carter and the Lady Longhorns, but he’s still finding time to give the fans what they’ve been waiting for. Less than ten days away from the release of his latest album, For All The Dogs, the Toronto native has teased the release of what is presumed to be the project’s first single.
On Wednesday, September 13, Drake shared a cryptic photo through Instagram. The image centers on a woman covered in slime while those in the crowd watch closely. A “Parental Advisory” sticker sits in the bottom corner of the photo and SZA is tagged in the post. The Grammy Award-winning hitmaker didn’t offer much in regards to the caption, but the photo was enough to get the rumor mill going. Most publications and social media accounts are under the assumption that Drake will release a new single with SZA on Friday, September 15.
“It’s time,” one fan commented.
“Been ready,” another fan added.
Drake is no stranger to surprises. His previous two projects both came with little warning. Not to mention, If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late arrived in 2015 without any promotion. For All The Dogs does have a September 22, 2023 release date, but little is publicly known in regards to the focus of the album and the tracklist.
