Drake has been on a roll this year and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. After ending the year by collaborating with PartyNextDoor and Swae Lee, the Toronto superstar has started the new year by releasing “Life Is Good” and “Desires” with Future. This weekend, Drake continued to fuel rumors about a new project by shooting a new music video.
Over the weekend, Drake was spotted shooting a new video in front of the Marcy Houses in Brooklyn, New York. Over the years, a number of artists have started their careers in the Brooklyn neighborhood. Papoose, Memphis Bleek, Sauce Money, Jaz-O and Mos Def all lived in the Marcy Houses at one point. However, no one is more responsible for putting the Marcy Houses on the map than Jay-Z.

Over the years, Jay-Z and Drake have collaborated on a number of tracks including “Off That” and “Light Up.” More recently, Jay-Z offered a verse on Drake’s “Talk Up” off of Scorpion.
In addition to Jay-Z, the entire borough of Brooklyn has seen a massive surge in attention over the last few months. Artists like 22Gz, Pop Smoke, Fivio Foreign, Sheff G, Smoove’L and Sleepy Hallow have all created a movement within the city. Rumors have circulated about Drake possibly having recorded a song with Fivio Foreign. This would not be a surprise as the Brooklyn artist recently hopped on a song with Tory Lanez. Not to mention, Drake has a history of collaborating with artists on the rise and attaching himself to growing movements. In the past, he’s hopped on “Versace” with Migos, worked on “One Dance” with Wizkid and remixed “My Way” with Fetty Wap.
It’s unclear what this video shoot means, but we’ll know in the near future.
