The Bryant Bulldogs are picking up Saint Peter’s Peacocks transfer guard Doug Edert after his Cinderella run to the Elite Eight in the 2022 NCAA Tournament. After Head Coach Shaheen Holloway left the Saint Peter’s program for his alma mater the Seton Hall Pirates, several players including Edert, entered the transfer portal. The Bryant Bulldogs pick up a talented guard with experience deep into the NCAA Tournament. While Bryant is a bigger program, this was not as big of a program as some people expected him to commit to after he entered the transfer protal.

This season as a junior for the Saint Peter’s Peacocks, Doug Edert averaged 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game. He was really a top asset for the team in their magical run to the 2022 NCAA Tournament Elite Eight where they ultimately lost to the eventual tournament runner-ups, the North Carolina Tar Heels. As he heads to Bryant he will be a senior leader for a team that wants to head back to the NCAA Tournament.

Saint Peter’s will now have to rebuild with a new Head Coach and a largely new roster next year. The good news is their program and conference will get a solid portion of revenue from the 2022 NCAA Tournament due to their deep run. Bryant picks up a talented player with experience and is loaded up heading into the American East. “The Stache” is headed to a new team and hopefully he has some more magical moments.
