The original cast of artists that have made Top Dawg Entertainment what it is today are still active, but it appears that a new crop of artists has arrived. Within the last few months, Reason has delivered No More, No Less, Ray Vaughn released his first EP with the label Zacari shared “Good Nights.” Now, Doechii is taking the baton and running with it.
Doechii kicked off the spring by announcing her deal with TDE and sharing the “Persuasive” video. Within two weeks, the single neared one million streams on Spotify and she’s returned with a new track called “Crazy.”
Produced by Kal Banx, “Crazy” is fast-paced, uptempo track that leaves the listener feeling like they’re in a car chase from an action thriller. Doechii’s fiery vocals add to the high energy soundscape put together by Kal Banx. From verse to verse, her confidence and emphatic wordplay punctuates her introduction to one of Hip-Hop’s most exclusive labels.
“Y’all calling me crazy/When a b*tch been ballin’ all day, like Brady/Long hair that’s wavy/And a b*tch been shopping all day/No Macy’s,” she raps.
“You n*ggas can’t date me/Look at your savings/You n*ggas still waiting/Still blowing out daisies/Counting on daydreams.”
