Marvel has delivered one last gift before the holiday season comes to a close. Led by Benedict Cumberbatch, the first Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness teaser has arrived. Filled with tie ins from Wanda Vision and the most reason Spider-Man film, the two-minute clip takes fans on a wild ride as the former sorcerer supreme battles through dimensions to possibly learn that his biggest foe is himself. Set for release in May of next year, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness will certainly have major implications for the remaining portion of this MCU phase.
The release of the first Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness comes on the heels of last week’s Spider-Man: No Way Home release. Without giving away any spoilers, it can be said that the film was a major success at the box office. Despite the threat of COVID-19, fans packed into theaters across the country and propelled the film to a $260 million opening weekend at the box office. Not only is that the best opening weekend for any film in the U.S. this year, but it’s also second highest opening weekend in box office history. Only Avengers: Endgame in 2019 has had a better opening weekend at the box office than the latest Tom Holland film.
“Without these legends this movie wouldn’t be half as good,” Holland wrote on Instagram as the film made its way into the history books.
“Thank you lads for your hard work and dedication. From Luke’s crash into the stairs to Greg’s falling through the floor to me stubbing my little toe on the glider. It’s been an adventure. Love you lads.”
Following the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland will prepare for the release of Uncharted. He is also rumored to play a role in the upcoming Fred Astaire biopic. Meanwhile, Zendaya is getting ready for the season two premiere of Euphoria in January on HBO.
