It has been more than a month since the legendary Earl “DMX” Simmons passed away. In the weeks since his passing, Hip-Hop pioneers, sports figures and lawmakers have praised the New York native for his contributions to music and electric personality. He was also honored with a public ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn last month. Now, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy his music one last time.
Executive produced by Swizz Beatz, DMX’s latest album, Exodus, will arrive on May 28, 2021. Little is known about the posthumous release, but we do know that DMX was working on it tirelessly before his untimely death. DMX also hinted that the late Pop Smoke may also appear on the project.
“My brother X was one of the [purest] and rare souls I’ve ever met. He lived his life dedicated to his family and music. Most of all, he was generous with his giving and loved his fans beyond measure,” Swizz Beatz said in a press release.
“This album, X couldn’t wait for his fans all around the world to hear and show just how much he valued each and every single person that has supported him unconditionally.”
