Popular internet personality Livingston “DJ Akademiks” Allen is the subject of a lawsuit filed by Fauziya Abashe in the Superior Court of New Jersey on Monday, May 13, 2024. Abashe says she was drugged and raped by two of Allen’s friends at his New Jersey home in 2022.
The lawsuit indicates Abashe and Allen met in 2021 and dated casually. In July 2022, The plaintiff says she was invited to Allen’s home, but did not “suspect [he had] any ill intentions.” Upon arrival at his home, she talked to two of his friends, identified as John Doe 1 and John Doe 2, in the lawsuit. As they waited for Allen to join the group, the lawsuit alleges Abashe and the two friends went to his hot tub. While at the hot tub, Abashe allegedly consumed alchohol and began to shift in and out of consciousness. During this period, the two men allegedly gang raped her before she woke up in the early hours of the morning as Allen was also “brutally raping” her.
“I’m confident that justice will prevail and the veil will be removed so no other woman will have to endure what I did,” Abashe stated.
Allen has denied the accusations levied against him and says, “whatever this is will be handled in court.” However, Abashe and her attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, have already suggested that they have attempted to reach out to Allen previously and accused him of incriminating himself through social media.
“Litigation is always the last resort,” Blackburn stated.
“After several unsuccessful attempts to privately resolve this case, Ms Abashe was left no choice other than to file.”
