Unfortunately, tragedy strikes the NBA family once again. Oklahoma City Thunder guard Dion Waiters announced on his Instagram account that his little brother was killed yesterday in Waiters’ hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Steve Keeley of Fox29 in Philadelphia reports that Waiters’ brother, whose name and age have not yet been released, was murdered. He was one of six people killed in the city yesterday throughout a day full of horrible crimes. At this time, it is not clear if the incidents were related. Philadelphia police have not yet released the cause of death.

For the third time in a month, another member of the Oklahoma City Thunder family has passed away. Assistant Coach Monty Williams’ wife was killed in a car accident during the NBA All-Star break, last week Thunder co-owner Aubrey McClendon was killed in a single car accident and now Waiters’ brother has lost his life.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Waiters and the Thunder family.
