Verzuz has not confirmed the news via their social accounts, but Timbaland recently spoke to Variety about the future of the popular battle series.
“Yeah, we’re about to go to the to the next level, and when you do that, there’s always little bumps in the road, a few hiccups,” he explained.
“But we’re about to make an announcement — I can’t really talk about who we got on it because the paperwork’s not in yet, but this one’s gonna be pretty cool. Me and Swizz are still involved in a big way, and we’re doing something that nobody’s ever seen — it’s not like a battle, but it’s me and him. When you see it, you’re gonna be like, Oh, that’s kind of different.”
Well, a few weeks later and it appears that an announcement has been made. Jermaine Dupri and Diddy are headed to one of the most iconic venues in sports and music during Labor Day Weekend.
