Last night, the world watched with excitement as Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns held off Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks to earn another playoff win. This morning, Booker is making plays off of the court. The three-time NBA All-Star has announced that he will be joining Naomi Osaka as the newest sweetgreen ambassador. Through ads and various sweetgreen promotions, Booker and Osaka will use their platforms to speak to future generations about the importance of what they eat. Additionally, Booker and Osaka will assist the company’s incomparable culinary team to perfect their very own to-go bowls.
Booker is the first athlete to join Osaka in her latest venture as a sweetgreen partner athlete. In this role, Osaka will not simply star in ads and digital campaigns, but she’ll also be an active investor in the company’s development. While fast food partnerships in sports are nothing new, Osaka’s bond with sweetgreen will challenge the status quo of traditional fast food athlete partnerships. As world class athlete and all-around creative, she believes that food made with real, fresh ingredients are essential for peak performance.
“I’m proud to join forces with Sweetgreen to change the way the world thinks of traditional fast-food sponsorships. As an athlete, what I put into my body directly correlates to how I perform and eating delicious, healthy foods fuels my daily routine,” she said when the partnership was announced last year.
“I’m excited about the work we’re doing together to create a positive impact.”
We’re doing something BIG with @naomiosaka and @DevinBook ? We tasked our fave athletes to create their own sweetgreen bowl and ngl they’re pretty good. Link in bio to order. pic.twitter.com/s3m4yOoM8c
