ESPN’s Brian Windhorst was a guest on the ‘Russillo and Kanell’ show earlier today on ESPN Radio. In the video above, he talked about Derrick Rose and his apparently deteriorating relationship with the Chicago Bulls.
Chicago’s native son has been in the Bulls spotlight since he was drafted first overall by the Bulls in the 2008 Draft. Since then, everyone knows what Rose has been through. He’s won an MVP award, he’s fought through injuries galore and he’s also recently battled rape allegations but it appears the Bulls have reached their end.
The Bulls and Rose breaking up might come soon, especially with the point guard expecting a big payday in the summer of 2017 and Chicago might not be inclined to give Rose what he wants.
Considering that the Bulls just gave Jimmy Butler a big contract in the summer, there might be more hesitation from the Bulls front office to get very expensive with their backcourt in the future. Even if the cap is going up, the Bulls have been reluctant to get anywhere near the luxury tax line in the past.
Now it’s just time to sit and wait to see who might bite on some Derrick Rose bait. Do you bring him in for the next season and a half and then see what happens in 2017? Or do the Bulls keep him and risk losing him in 2017 for nothing in return? Only time will tell.
