Quarterback Derek Carr has informed the Las Vegas Raiders that he will not waive his no-trade clause for any team. This comes after the New Orleans Saints reportedly had a deal in place for the quarterback that just needed his approval. Carr prefers to be released and enter free agency to sign with whatever team. This move would also net him more money in the process. Las Vegas is now expected to cut the veteran quarterback in the coming week. New Orleans and other teams will be in the mix for the quarterback when he enters free agency.

The relationship between Derek Carr and the Las Vegas Raiders soured at the end of the season when he was benched for the final two games of the season. It became clear fairly quickly that this partnership was over and eventually Carr penned his goodbye to the franchise and its fanbase. Later in the team’s offseason Carr was named as a Pro Bowl alternate and performed well in Las Vegas as an almost audition to other teams while wearing Raiders gear.
This season with the Las Vegas Raiders, Derek Carr completed 305 passes for 3,522 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions on 502 attempts. He also rushed the ball 24 times for 102 yards and zero rushing touchdowns this year. Carr was the team’s starting quarterback for nine seasons after they drafted him in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft with the 36th overall pick. The Fresno State Bulldogs quarterback owns every major franchise passing record for the Raiders. He will be one of the top free agents this offseason once the team releases him.
