Davis was selected in the third round, 77th overall, by the New York Jets in the 2012 NFL Draft. After spending his first four seasons with the New York Jets, Davis signed with the Cleveland Browns for the 2016 season, but returned to New York in 2017. Davis ranks 14th on the Jets all time tackles list with 317 solo tackles throughout his five seasons with the team (four as a starter). Davis, 29, has never missed a game in is six year career and is coming off a great season in which he set career highs in tackles (135) and sacks (5).
Davis will likely be called on to be a leader of this Saints defense in 2018. This was a defense that was exciting to watch in 2017 but they disappeared in the playoffs. After agreeing to terms with quarterback Drew Brees yesterday it seems that Mickey Loomis and the Saints’ front office has switched their focus to defense today.
