If you’re not familiar with Dee Gatti, you’ve missed the assignment. In fact, you’re failing the class. Luckily, there’s still time to make up and get extra credit. The Texas native has recently dropped off her latest EP, Just Called To Say, and it’s definitely something you should check out.
Dee Gatti is a rising singer-songwriter coming out of the greater Dallas area and it is impossible not to root for her. With five siblings, she worked various night jobs to help support her family. Over time, she developed a love for music and broke on to the scene in 2020 with a string of singles like “Playa” and “Caught Up.” She also found her way on to records with fellow up-and-coming artists like Zayland and Sushii.
This year, Dee Gatti is taking the next step toward stardom. Just last week, she delivered her debut solo project, Just Called To Say. Influenced Boyz II Men, Chris Brown and Summer Walker, the project delivers those late-night vibes with a smooth R&B feel. In my humble opinion, she shines on upbeat tracks like “Must Be Something” and more sultry efforts like “Bad Intentions,” but you can pick out your favorite tracks yourself. Just Called To Say is available right below.
