Netflix has announced the return date for one of its biggest shows. Coming off of the releases of She’s Gotta Have It, Jessica Jones and Dead To Me, Netflix will bring back Dear White People on August 2nd.
The announcement was made earlier today on Netflix’s YouTube channel with a video featuring Marque Richardson and Antoinette Robertson, who play the characters of Reggie and Coco. Throughout the video, the two open up a debate on how you should best eat grits. In celebration of Juneteenth, the cast also decided to reveal the release date of one of the streaming site’s biggest shows led by a Black cast and director.
The latest season of the show will bring back the aforementioned Antoinette Robertson and Marque Richardson as well as Logan Browning, Ashley Featherson and more. Behind the camera, Yvette Lee Bowser, Stephanie Allain and Julia Lebedev will act as executive producers with Justin Simien directing the show.
Last season ended on as cliffhanger as Samantha White and Lionel Higgins explored the world of secret societies at prestigious universities. Check back in on August 2nd to see how everything plays out. In the meantime, check out their special announcement video above.
