Another injury has removed a big name from 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend. It’s not another NBA All-Star going down with an ailment but instead, a young star in the making will miss out on the festivities and it’ll be a player from the host city. Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball is going to skip the 2018 NBA Rising Stars Game and interestingly enough his rival, Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox, will replace him in the game.
Just about one month ago Lonzo Ball suffered a knee injury against the Dallas Mavericks. Ball has sat on the sidelines as the Lakers carried on without him. He is expected to make his return after the All-Star break and that means he won’t participate in any events this weekend. Fox was named his replacement earlier today by the NBA.
Following comes from an official NBA statement.
Today, the NBA announced that Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox was selected to participate with the U.S. Team in the 2018 Mtn Dew Kickstart Rising Stars during NBA All-Star Weekend.
