Maybe all good things do not have to come to an end. Fifteen years after the band’s formation, Day26 is coming back together to work on more music. Qwanell “Que” Mosley kicked off Day26’s reunion announcement by sharing a photo of group’s original members sitting together in a studio.
“We back! Day26 vibes in the studio,” the post’s caption reads.
Hours later, the group shared another photo of all five members sitting together on the Day 26 Instagram account.
“R&Bs Starting 5 #15YearAnniversary,” the caption reads.
“Day26 Let’s Go! New music on the way.”
During MTV’s popular series, Making The Band 4, Day26 formed with the following members: Brian Andrews, Michael McCluney, Qwanell Mosley, Robert Curry, and Willie Taylor. The group returned for a second season on the MTV series alongside Danity Kane and a solo artist by the name of Donnie Klang. In the second chapter of their MTV journey, the group worked on their self-titled debut album. Topping the charts in its first week, the 12-track project included hit records like “Got Me Going” and “Since You’ve Been Gone.” One year later, the group returned with its second album, Forever In A Day, and landed at number two on the charts. Following the group’s sophomore album, each member embarked on solo ventures. However, many of the group’s members left the door open for a formal return.
“I say this all the time: Day26, I don’t believe that it’s over. I would definitely be up for coming back together and eventually doing music together…I definitely wouldn’t count out more Day26 albums,” Brian Andrews told Adelle Planto of VIBE in 2012.
Now, the group is truly ready to bring it all back together.
