In addition, the Browns also tendered three exclusive rights free agents in wide receiver Ja’Marcus Bradley, guard Michael Dunn, and offensive lineman Blake Hance.
Njoku was drafted in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft by the Browns and showed interest in staying with them once his rookie contract was up.
“It’s a lot of blood, sweat and tears that was put into these last few years,” Njoku said when the regular season ended. “I owe it all to God. We just have to keep working … I love it here. I love it here to the core.”
With every season, Njoku has demonstrated his value and, most recently, he was third in receptions (36) and yards (475) and led the team in touchdowns with four during the 2021 season.
NFL teams have until Tuesday afternoon to designate their franchise tag player for the offseason.
