While the Portland Trail Blazers were able to sneak into the playoffs and capture the 8th seed in the Western Conference, their goals were not satisfied. With an explosive backcourt in place comprised of C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard, the Blazers have much higher aspirations than a first round playoff exit.
Now with the offseason upon us, point guard Damian Lillard can focus on some of his other hobbies such as rapping along with improving his game to ensure Portland comes back better than ever next season.
Another one of Lillard’s favorite pass-times is getting into various debates and answering fan questions on Twitter, a social media platform he has always been very candid on. Recently, Lillard was asked where he would go if he had the opportunity to play for anyone in the league outside of the Blazers. His response caught the attention of many across the NBA world as he cited two other Western Conference teams as his preferred destinations if he was to ever leave Rip City.
@Dame_Lillard if you had the opportunity to sign with any team in the league today other than trailblazers what team would it be?

If blazers said they didn't want me… Utah Jazz or Lakers https://t.co/jep3V9qRsS

Of course, Lillard added that he would only look into those options if the Blazers didn’t want him for whatever reason, which is currently a longshot, to say the least. Dame is under contract with Portland through the 2020-21 campaign and is coming off his best season as a pro with per game averages of 27 points and nearly 6 assists. The two choices Lillard expressed would make some sense considering he’s a product of Weber State University which is located in Utah and was born a California native.
