UPDATE: (January 3rd 2020 at 2:15pm): DaBaby remains behind bars and will be held until facing the judge. According to Rolling Stone, the North Carolina rapper is being held on battery charges from an outstanding warrant issued in Dallas, Texas.
UPDATE (January 3rd 2020 at 9:45 a.m.): TMZ reports that the DaBaby’s arrest stems from a robbery investigation in Miami. Reports indicate that a concert promoter went to meet with the Charlotte artist at a hotel in Miami. During the meeting, the rapper allegedly raised concerns about being shorted money for a recent performance. From there, things reportedly got out of control. Photos obtained by TMZ show the concert promoter in question on concrete pavement as another man allegedly grabs belongings from him. Another man can be seen observing the situation from just a few feet away. There is no public evidence identifying the men or their connection to DaBaby. However, he has been taken in for questioning with a bond set at $1,500.
DaBaby has been taken into police custody for the second time in two weeks. At the moment, it is unclear why he has been detained and what he may possibly be charged with. The only details available regarding the arrest come from a video posted online that shows the musician being taken away in handcuffs by what appear to be Miami-Dade County police officers as Billionaire Dollar Baby recording artist, Rich Dunk, tries to help his friend out.
Prior to the Christmas holiday, the Charlotte rapper was detained in the parking lot of the Bojangles Coliseum after giving away toys to kids need and delivering a live concert in his hometown. The North Carolina native was initially charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession.
