In a matter of a few years, D Smoke has gone from being a musician that flew under the radar to one of the fastest rising stars in all of music. From winning the first season of Rhythm + Flow to guest starring in Peacock’s Bel-Air, he’s managed to find his way into a number of high-profile positions. Not to mention, he has the support of Snoop Dogg, SiR and many other stars on the west coast. This weekend, he caught up with another rising star from the state of California, Boogie.
Boogie and D Smoke have connected to deliver the visuals for their joint track, “Crossover.” The soulful jazz production paint the background for the Sergio-directed video that artfully touches on the terrible effects of unnecessary bravado and violence.
“Why n*ggas gotta act so tough?/Like you bein’ a a**hole is a fact, bro/You are actual sus,” D Smoke raps.
“Who wrote out the script?/Who directed the film that created your tough act? Uh/Why you out in the fields?/You should thank all the blockers that helped with your run backs,” Boogie adds.
“Crossover” joins “Lights On,” “Black Habits” and D Smoke’s catalog of artfully shot visuals that stand out from the pack. Check out the video below.
