Musicians and athletes have always had a common bond. In the 90s, Shaquille O’Neal and the Notorious B.I.G had a friendship that allowed them to appear on the same track together. More recently, LeBron James and Drake have a shared bond that led them to go into business together. Now, there’s a new type of athlete enter the equation, e-athletes. With e-sports on the rise, Crown Royal is looking to bridge the gap between artists and e-athletes.
Crown Royal was teamed up with Columbia Records to launch the “The Crown Crossover” series. Each week, members of NBA 2K affiliates, Hawks Talon Gaming and Detroit Pistons GT, will connect with artists like Quinn XCII, Joey Bada$$ and CHASE B to talk about music, gaming, entrepreneurship and more.
“Our partnership with Columbia Records, the Pistons GT and Hawks Talon for The Crown Crossover Livestream is another way for us to take our passion and love for the game of basketball and bring it directly to our fans,” Crown Royal Vice President Nicky Heckles said.
“This weekly experience brings some of the league’s brightest stars, professional gamers and musicians together in a way we can’t help but be excited about.”
New editions of “The Crown Crossover” series will air each and every Wednesday on Crown Royal’s Facebook page.
