MGM has announced that the third installment of the Creed franchise will debut in November 2022. This announcement comes shortly after it was revealed that Michael B. Jordan would direct the upcoming film. He will take over Steve Caple Jr. and longtime Rocky forebearer Sylvester Stallone.
“Directing has always been an aspiration, but the timing had to be right. Creed III is that moment — a time in my life where I’ve grown more sure of who I am, holding agency in my own story, maturing personally, growing professionally, and learning from the Greats like Ryan Coogler, most recently Denzel Washington, and other top tier directors I respect. All of which sets the table for this moment,” Jordan stated.
This is the latest addition to Jordan’s growing slate of movie releases. He is currently working on Wrong Answer with Ryan Coogler, Journal for Jordan with Denzel Washington and a Muhammad Ali limited series with Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter. Not to mention, he is set to star in the upcoming film, Without Remorse, with Lauren London.
In the third Creed film, Jordan’s character, Adonis Creed, will move on from avenging the death of his father in a fight against Drago’s son. It is unclear what turn the franchise will take in its next release.
