Actor Michael B. Jordan is reportedly making his directorial debut with the release of Creed III. His co-star, Tessa Thompson, confirmed the news in a recent MTV News interview.
“He is directing the next Creed,” she told Josh Horowitz.
“It’s going to be ammo, I think, for me when he is engaging with me as a director. I’m just going to tell him to dial down the sexiness,” she joked.
Jordan will have big shoes to fill as he takes on his new role. The first installment of the film franchise was led by the talented Ryan Coogler. Coogler then passed the keys to Steven Caple Jr. Now, the New Jersey native will lead the franchise without Coogler, Caple Jr. or Sylvester Stallone. Stallone has remained adamant about not returning to the Rocky spin-off film series after appearing in the first two films.
Jordan will be joined by Zach Baylin. Baylin will write the script after doing so for the Will Smith-led picture, King Richard. There is no release date for the film yet.
