
The Tracee Ellis Ross led Daria spin-off, Jodie, has landed at Comedy Central. Black-ish star Ellis Ross will serve as the lead voice for Jodie. Behind the scenes, Grace Edwards of Insecure will serve as a producer and head writer for the animated series.
Jodie will follow the life of Jodie, Daria’s best friend. It will explore topics such as white privilege, social media, gender fluidity and the issues Black woman face in the work place.

The show will also serve as one of the first projects from MTV Studios led by Chis McCarthy. Moving forward, MTV Studios hopes that the series will produce a “Daria universe” that will offer a number of spin-offs.
As of now, there is no release date for the series or an episode count for the first season. More details will be revealed as the show nears its air date.
