Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick made a pledge in 2016 to donate a million dollars to various charities around the country. Kaepernick donated $900,000 already and finished his donations with a #10for10 where he and another person matched donations $10 thousand for $10 thousand. This last donation came with music icon Usher donating. They talked about it in a video posted to Kaepernick’s Twitter earlier today.

This final payment of the 10 for 10 campaign was the ending of a great run of community involvement by well-known celebrities. There were matches made by several athletes including Steph Curry, Serena Williams, and Kevin Durant, as well rappers Snoop Dogg and Meek Mill. This donation went to H.O.M.E. (Helping Oppressed Mother Endure) a Georgia based charity for single mothers.
Kaepernick has been a symbol of social justice since his first act of protesting the national anthem. Since that year Kaepernick has not been signed by any NFL teams even with his decent play during 2016. Many believe he has been blackballed from the league and is currently in a legal battle with the NFL.
