Clippers To Hire Mike Woodson As Assistant
After losing Tyronn Lue to the Cavaliers and Alvin Gentry to the Warriors, the Los Angeles Clippers and Doc Rivers will have ex-Knicks head coach Mike Woodson as an assistant on their coaching staff, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.
Woodson was fired by Knicks president Phil Jackson after his team missed the playoffs with a 37-45 record. Kevin Eastman, who was also on Rivers’ coaching staff, was recently promoted to the front office. Berger added that Rivers is pursuing Lawrence Frank, his former assistant in Boston, and Wizards assistant Sam Cassell, who played for Doc in Boston in 2008, to fill out his staff.
