Doc Rivers stays active on the phones with all this extra time thanks to the extended All-Star break and he seems to shop around any player, no matter how good or valuable they are.
On that list of players Rivers has been shopping is three-point specialist and multiple time sixth man of the year award winner, Jamal Crawford.

Nevertheless, the Clippers have probed the market with Jamal Crawford to see if there’s a way to acquire a first-round pick that could help them make a competitive offer to Denver for Wilson Chandler or Arron Afflalo, league sources said. The Clippers have also had a continuing interest with Phoenix’s Gerald Green, sources said.
The Clippers need a wing player so badly, they even took a hard look at Charlotte’s Lance Stephenson in recent weeks, sending a scout to observe him for two games, league sources said. The Clippers moved on, without pursuing serious discussions.
Shipping Crawford out of Los Angeles would definitely allow the minutes for Rivers’ son, Austin Rivers, to increase and allow him to become that reserve combo guard Doc seems to want him to be.
The issue is, what team wants to give up a first round pick for an aging Crawford in order to help the Clippers flip that pick for a player they need. The only team that would acquire Crawford is a contender and it’s unlikely that a contender would want to help the Clippers get better.
Although any of these guys, Gerald Green, Wilson Chandler, Arron Afflalo or even previously discussed Tayshaun Prince, would be dramatic upgrades for the Clippers at their wing position that has just been horrible all year led by Crawford and Matt Barnes.
