One week ago, Brian McIntyre celebrated as Terence Crawford beat Errol Spence Jr. to become the undisputed welterweight champion of the world. This week, he’s back in the gym with another fighter by the name of Chris Eubank Jr. The former super middleweight champion has enlisted Terence Crawford’s lead trainer, Brian McIntyre, to lead him into battle for what could be the biggest fight of his career thus far.
“Terence Crawford’s whole team is actually now working with me,” Eubank Jr. told Sky Sports.
“We’re off to a great start. Obviously, we had an amazing result over the weekend and we were in the gym the next day. So I’m very happy.”
McIntyre is best known for his work with Crawford, but he’s also had success working with current and former world champions like Shakur Stevenson and Jamel Herring. Not to mention, he’s played a role in the development of former Olympian and lightweight contender Keyshawn Davis. However, Eubank Jr. presents a new challenge as he enters a bout that could define this chapter of his career. He will meet Smith in the center of the ring at Manchester Arena on September 2, 2023.
