Dallas Mavericks star forward Dirk Nowitzki missed the Mavs contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night with some ‘knee swelling’ and Raymond Felton also joined him on the sideline listed as out due to injury. Without their big German star, the Mavs immediately looked to someone to lead them and the man that stepped up was Chandler Parsons.
The Mavs needed overtime to get the win over the young Wolves but essentially from the start of the extra session, the Mavs took command and never looked back. They outscored Minnesota 17-5 in overtime and the trio of Chandler Parsons, Deron Williams and Wesley Matthews came up big for Dallas.
Parsons dropped 30 on 13-20 shooting and he also grabbed eight rebounds on the night for the Mavs in their comeback home win. It was Parsons highest scoring output for the season and the most he’s scored in a game since March of 2015.
