The pilot for Rush Hour has officially been ordered.
The show is lifted from the original 1998 movie originally starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
The story will follow a structured, by-the-book Hong Kong police officer who is partnered with a boisterous local LAPD officer, who is bent on not working with a partner.
Bill Lawrence, writer of the original film described the show as:
“New plot, same characters, a little younger, a little different, fish out of water.
It’s a cool script. I’m psyched about it!”
In addition to Rush Hour, CBS has also ordered to other comedies, Super Clyde and Joe Time.
Super Clyde is being redeveloped after an initial pilot order in 2013 starring Harry Potter star, Rupert Grint. The show follows a meek, un-driven fast-food worker who eventually finds his calling.
Joe Time follows the story of a man who struggles to feel happy for others around him who are pursuing their dreams and enjoying life more than he is.
The cast and premiere dates for these new shows have not yet been revealed.
