Cardi B hit the stage during Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve, but she was not feeling her best.
“I’m literally fighting for my life right now,” she told her fans.
“I am so sick. I don’t understand because when I was in New York, I was going out with sweaters, toes out, everything.”
Despite being under the weather, she pulled through and performed. Afterward, she stopped by a nightclub in Miami, Florida and previewed new music.
“I hear a hit coming,” one fan wrote after hearing the snippet.
“She will be unstoppable this year,” another fan added.
Cardi B is nearing the five-year anniversary of the release of her debut album, Invasion of Privacy. Led by the success of “Bodak Yellow” and “Be Careful,” the project debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and set the stage for her supporting world tour.
Since the release of her debut album, Cardi B has collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion, Bruno Mars, Rosalía, Offset, GloRilla, Kay Flock and many others. As fans patiently await her sophomore LP, she says that it will be out “very soon.”
“I should already start talking about the album because I’m going to be putting it out very soon,” she told Ebro of Hot 97 last year.
“It’s like I have to watch it because I always feel like somebody watching me — it’s going to come out when it’s going to come out.”
