Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Calvin Ridley has officially applied for his reinstatement to the NFL after a year-long suspension. It has been a long journey away from football for the talented wide receiver. First, he stepped away from the Falcons in October of 2021 to focus on his mental health. Then on March 7th of 2022, he was suspended by the NFL for one full year after an investigation discovered he’d bet on NFL games while away from the team. Before the NFL Trade Deadline Atlanta traded Ridley to the Jacksonville Jaguars for conditional draft compensation.
Jaguars’ WR Calvin Ridley, who was suspended one season after being accused of betting on games in November 2021 while he played with the Falcons, is in fact applying to the NFL today for reinstatement, per source. Today is first day Ridley can apply, and he’s wasting no time.

In just under four full seasons for the Atlanta Falcons, Calvin Ridley caught 248 passes for 3,342 yards and 28 touchdowns on 380 targets. He also rushed the ball 13 times for 62 yards and zero rushing touchdowns in his Falcons’ career. Last season Jacksonville came within a score of beating the eventual Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round of the 2022-23 NFL Playoffs. Stacking talent like Ridley around quarterback Trevor Lawrence is vital for his long-term success. The NFL will go through the process and decide on his reinstatement in the coming days or weeks.
