North Carolina Tar Heels star shooting guard Caleb Love has announced that he is entering the transfer portal this offseason. This comes after a down season for the Tar Heels and the star shooting guard. Love is credited with hitting perhaps the greatest shot in the history of North Carolina basketball in the 2022 NCAA Tournament when the Tar Heels eliminated the Duke Blue Devils in the Final Four. Fans have been critical of the shooting guard this season and that may have played a part in his decision to leave the program.

Caleb Love becomes the sixth Tar Heel to enter the transfer portal this offseason. He joins forwards Justin McKoy, Puff Johnson, Tyler Nickel, Dontrez Styles, and big man Will Shaver. With RJ Davis and Armando Bacot announcing their return for next season, it will be a mostly new lineup for North Carolina next season. The team will have to hit the transfer portal hard this offseason with only two high school recruits coming into the program this Fall.
As a junior for the North Carolina Tar Heels, Caleb Love averaged 16.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. There will be several programs in most conferences interested in the shooting guard next season. He will have time to decide where he wishes to play next season.
